Lessons

I offer riding lessons and lessons in basic horsemanship. You can choose what you want to do from arena riding, trail obstacle, trail riding, and you can ride Western or English.

Private horseback riding lessons – $45 an hour

Group horseback riding lessons – $40 an hour

Trail riding lessons for intermediate to advanced riders – $25 an hour (minimum 2 hours maximum 4). These lessons are for people who want to learn to ride on the trails, and have already been taking basic riding lessons here on the ranch. You can bring your own horse, or borrow one from the ranch.

Flying Duchess Ranch Riding Packages

Riding Packages are available for riders who have taken several lessons at the ranch and are above the very beginner level. Packages are month to month. You can ride using any of the ranch facilities. Call in advanced to reserve a specific horse.  Ride any time from 9am until sunset. Western and English saddles available. The hours of riding time you have depend on the package. All available horses are ridden at least once a week by an instructor to make sure that they maintain their training.

Trail riding

Ranch Facilities:

  • Outdoor arena
  • Round pen
  • Trail obstacle course (for authorized riders only)
  • Horseback archery course (for authorized riders only)
  • Medieval horse games course (for authorized riders only)

Packages include:

  • Use of all facilities
  • All tack and supplies
  • All horse care and feeding
  • One free lesson per month
  • Hours of riding time vary depending on the package

Tina and Magic

Packages:

1 – $100 a month for up to 6 hours of riding time and one lesson

2 – $150 a month for up to 12 hours of riding time and one lesson

3 – $200 a month for up to 18 hours of riding time and one lesson

If you pay for 2 months in advanced you get your third month half off. Your free lesson may be private or may be in a group, depending on how busy the schedule is.

The rider’s riding ability will be evaluated once a month during their free lesson. Riders must be at least a level 2 riding ability before they are allowed to do free riding on the ranch (riding without supervision or instruction). All riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet at all times while mounted.

Unused riding hours do not rollover to the next month/package.
